Google Pixel 7A Review
The Google Pixel 7a is the latest flagship Android smartphone from Google. Announced at this year’s I/O conference (and available immediately), the 7a has impressive technology and features for the money. Specifically, it gets Google’s latest processor and security features, as well as wireless charging, an upgraded display, and a seriously upgraded primary camera for USD 499 and INR 43,999. Let’s take a closer look.
Pixel 7A Camera Specs
You will find that, the primary rear camera of Google Pixel 7A has been changed compared to the Pixel 6a. The resolution of Pixel 7A is 64MP, and that’s why Google Pixel 7a comes with the highest resolution Pixel phone in the market, even bettering the 50MP primary camera on the Pixel 7 and 7 pro.
According to Google, the new sensor is 72% larger, with 44% more light-gathering capacity.
But the resolution is not everything. The new sensor is 72% larger than before, which Google says should translate into 44% more light-gathering ability. We can expect some serious improvements when it comes to low-end photography.
Long story short, Night Glass now runs twice as fast compared to 6a. In this mode, the camera uses AI to capture and combine multiple images to produce an image that surrounds the scene. A good alternative to using flash. The faster your smartphone can run its web magic every night, the more lessons you need.
The 7a also has a Google Exposure mode that combines various effects and allows users to blur parts of the image into text. Other editing tools, such as the Google Photo Unblur function, as well as the AI-powered Magic Eraser tool launched today.
Ultra-wide and front-facing cameras have also been upgraded, each featuring a 13MP chip. In addition, the triple camera is capable of 4K / 60p, but you will get the best video quality from the main camera. Finally, there is no zoom or telephoto lens, but the Super Res Zoom mode allows you to rely on the high-resolution properties of the main camera sensor up to 8x digital zoom.
The Pixel 7a uses the same 6.1-inch OLED screen as before, but now with a 90Hz refresh rate, compared to 60Hz on the 6a, which should ensure smoothness and a more user-friendly experience. However, it should be noted that 90Hz mode is not enabled by default, so if you get 7a, turn it on manually.
Performance, storage, and battery
Taken from the other Pixel 7 phones, it has Google’s latest Tensor G2 chipset and 8GB of RAM. Internal storage is locked at 128GB, with no option for expansion.
The device is powered by a 4,385 mAh battery, which is slightly smaller than its predecessor. Both wireless (7.5W) and wired (18W) charging are supported – a first for the series. Under ideal conditions, Google says the Pixel 7a should deliver 72 hours of battery life, but we’re guessing the screen will be 60Hz rather than 90Hz. So your path must change.
Design and build
Made from 7a aluminum (100% recycled) and thermoformed plastic, it maintains the same basic design principles as the latest Pixel phones. The dust rating is 6, the highest level of protection and the water resistance rating is 7, water-resistant for up to 30 minutes.
Cost and availability
Let’s talk about the Price and Availability of this smartphone. The Google Pixel 7a is available in four colors including charcoal, snow, Sea (light blue) and light orange. You can get Google Pixel 7A from $450 in the USA. In India you can buy this Phone on flipkart also, for the price of around RS. 44000. And in UK this new pixel 7A starts from £449
